Narrative Report on 2nd Week Mandatory Unannounced

Earthquake Drill
On April 20, 2023, an unannounced earthquake drill was conducted at Balon
Elementary School. The drill aimed to prepare students and staff for any emergency that
may arise, particularly in the event of an earthquake.

At exactly 10:30 am, the school's emergency alarm sounded, signaling the start of
the drill. All students and staff immediately stopped what they were doing and followed the
pre-determined emergency procedures. They quickly evacuated their classrooms and
headed to the designated evacuation areas, which were the open spaces in the school's
playground.

The students and staff remained calm throughout the drill and followed the
instructions of their respective teachers and designated personnel. The teachers took the
lead in ensuring the safety of their students, counting heads to make sure that everyone
was accounted for and assisting those who needed help.

The drill lasted for approximately 15 minutes, during which time the students and
staff waited patiently in their evacuation areas for further instructions. Once the drill was
over, the students returned to their classrooms and resumed their regular activities.

Overall, the unannounced earthquake drill was a success. The students and staff
demonstrated their readiness and willingness to respond to an emergency. The drill also
provided an opportunity for the school to identify areas for improvement in their
emergency preparedness plan. The school administration will review the drill's results and
make the necessary adjustments to improve the school's emergency response capabilities.
