Accomplishment Report on Fight Fire with Knowledge:

Fire Prevention Month 2023

Fire Prevention Month with the theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa” was held on
March 27, 2023, at Balon Elementary School's Covered Court was a resounding success. The event's goal
was to raise awareness about fire prevention and educate the students on how to respond to fire
emergencies.

The event was graced by a team of Bureau of Fire Protection Mariveles, including SFO1
Jeannette M Fomera, FO1 Dexter C Siangco, FO1 Carlos V Hermogeno Jr., MFB Jose Angelo C. Alejo, MFB
Niel L. Verzosa, MFB Jeffrick P. Castillo, and MFB Michael P. Taleon. They delivered informative lectures
and hands-on demonstrations on fire safety and prevention measures.

The event began with a short message from Maribel G. Esteron, A School DRRM Coordinator.
The talks focused on the importance of fire prevention and the role of the community in keeping
everyone safe. She also highlighted the crucial role of children in reporting fire emergencies and
reminded them to always practice fire safety.

After the opening remarks, the resource speakers facilitated various activities to engage the
students and help them understand fire safety and prevention better. They conducted a fire drill
simulation where students were taught how to evacuate in case of a fire emergency. The speakers also
demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers and educated the students, teaching and non-
teaching personnel on the different types of fires and how to extinguish them safely.

Moreover, the speakers held a Q&A session to answer the students and teachers’ questions and
clarifications on fire safety and prevention measures. They also distributed informational materials and
giveaways such as fire prevention flyers to the students.
In conclusion, the Fight Fire with Knowledge: Fire Prevention Month event was an incredible
success. The students and faculty members of Balon Elementary School gained valuable knowledge on
fire safety and prevention measures. The resource speakers and facilitators' efforts were commendable
in educating and raising awareness among the students, which would contribute to a safer community.
