Additional Comment:  It is easy to direct Ryan towards positive
goals and he demonstrates a lot of enthusiasm to learn.

loading, contouring, and planning. He has picked up our
workflow quickly and become productive (always with
appropriate supervision, of course).

spends observing with dosimetrists vs. planning on his own.
He has demonstrated good judgement about when to ask for
help and when is an appropriate time to seek help from given
dosimetrists.

principles. Additional Comment:  Ryan has an excellent understanding of
the basic physics concepts and principles. He has done well
when during quiz sessions with our group and followed-up with
his own independent research when he didn't know answers to
certain questions.

Is able to identify anatomy and contour appropriate structures.

Additional Comment:  Ryan has been partnering with our
oncology residents. He contours cases for them in exchange
for them giving him feedback on the quality of his contouring.
This is a win-win in that Ryan gets a lot of contouring practice,
anatomy review, and also gets to help out the resident group.

Understands the use of the computer for treatment planning. Meets Expectations [10 pts]
Additional Comment:  Ryan is a natural with understanding how
our Eclipse, MIM, ARIA, and other computer systems work.

Is able to enter information into the computer and design a Meets Expectations [10 pts]
basic treatment plan in accordance with prescription.

calculations. Additional Comment:  We don't do a lot of hand calculations
anymore, but some electron manual entry of data is still done
and Ryan has learned this technique.

requirements.

Exhibits a basic knowledge of anatomy, tissue dose tolerance, Meets Expectations [10 pts]
definitive tumor dose, and typical field arrangement.

Ryan has been an outstanding student so far! He is likely to make an excellent dosimetrist and is already ahead-of-the-curve in meeting required
competencies in addition to learning more advanced techniques as time allows. We are extremely pleased with his progress!
