The Mariano Marcos State institution Virtual Learning Environment (MVLE) was created
with the goal of improving and innovating the way the institution imparts knowledge to its
students as well as introducing a fresh academic approach to learning and collaboration
between teachers and students. MVLE, an institutional online learning management
system created by Mariano Marcos State University, enables teachers to deliver online
instruction and students to learn through online learning. The MVLE provides
communication, productivity, and student interaction capabilities for learners.
Administrative, course delivery, and content development tools make up the support
toolset. Most of the students are still confused on how to navigate the newest version of
MVLE. Here are the steps on how to enroll a subject in MVLE:
Step 1. Go to your browser and search this website
https://mvle4.mmsu.edu.ph/login/index.php. Then log in using your MVLE account
username (student number) and password you have created.
Note: If this is your first time logging in to the website, you can use the default password
that have been provided to you by your instructor. Then you can change it in the settings
after you are logged in.
Step 2. Once you have been directed to the Dashboard page, click the home page button.
Step 3. After you have been redirected to the home page, type the course name your
instructor has advised you to enroll on the search bar then click the search button.
Step 4. Courses will appear on the page. However, double-check the name of your course
and the name of our instructor. Some of the instructors use Self-enrolment key to the
students. Enter the enrolment key given by your instructor. After that, you will be redirected
to a new page once done.
The COVID-19 epidemic has changed the teaching and learning process. Higher
education institutions were compelled to switch from conventional to flexible teaching and
learning methods as a result. Prior to the unusual epidemic, Mariano Marcos State
University (MMSU) was lucky to have its own MMSU Virtual Learning Environment
(MVLE). The MVLE, which has been in use as MMSU's official learning management
system since 2013, was created primarily as an additional teaching and learning aid. The
MVLE is a web-based system that is hosted in the university's data center and is built
specifically for MMSU using the Moodle platform. The idea of creating a mobile app version
of the MVLE was developed because the majority of staff and students use their
smartphones. With both online and offline modes, the MVLE Mobile App offers convenient
access to the MVLE. Furthermore, the MVLE Mobile App offers instructors and students
the optimum user experience and permits them to instruct and learn using their mobile
devices anywhere and whenever they need it.

MMSU VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT was held on May 21,2020.

“Transitioning the Education Ecosystem to the New Normal”
The webinar is about how to use technology or how they’re using technology in their classes.
For the viewers to have an idea on how they can improve the offering of education in HDI
using the gifts of technology. The first sharer is Mr. Wilben Christie R. Pagtaconan the
Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Science and the Director of
Information Technology Center, at the same time the chief of the data protection office of
Mariano Marcos State University in Batac, Ilocos Norte. Graduated at St. Louis University in
Baguio City, with a Master of Science in information technology. He is also a member of
Board of Trustees of the Philippine e-learning society of IT educators here in Region 1. He
discusses the mVLE implementation framework, on how to choose the right VLE and
Demonstration of the mVLE. He defines what is flexible learning, in particularly flexible
learning provides learners with increased choices about where, when, and how learning
occurs, by using a range of technologies to support the teaching and learning process. (Lee
and Mcloughlin, 2010). Mvle has a Content of the course material and instructional approach.
It can be synchronous or Asynchronous mode of delivering the instruction, also it must
consider the resources and location. Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a system for
delivering learning materials to students via the web. These includes assessment, student
tracking, collaboration and communication tools. Some are using the term Learning
Management System (LMS), so both LMS and VLE are used interchangeably with the
implementation of MMSU virtual learning environment. In implementing an vle there must be
a framework to be followed, first Assessed the MMSU ICT e-readiness in terms of; MMSU
existing ICT infrastructure, users’ ICT profile one of this is the Faculty. Choosing the correct
or the right virtual learning environment they concentrated more on the use of open source
platforms and they prioritized the different components, were incorporated in the virtual
learning environment. The complete implementation requirement must have users’,
environment, and architecture as main components of the implementation framework. Way
back 2013-2015 we have moodle 1.7 version and now they upgraded it to moodle 3.8. There
are 4 steps in choosing the right Virtual Learning Environment: first (1) Consider your Needs,
Second (2) Evaluate Technical Considerations, Third (3) Set Feature priorities, Fourth (4)
Plan for Sustainability. They named mVLE as a brand for Mariano Marcos State University ,
the small “m” stands for Mariano Marcos State University and VLE for Virtual Learning
Environment. Now we have a 2.0 mVLE system. It can also an easy access for the teachers
to monitor their students and they they use mvle as their class records because structural
analysis is automatically generated based on the results of the exam and the statistics that
you can download. The University continuous to enhance ICT skills through trainings and
trainings on the use of mVLE. The last trainings was conducted last May 11-15, 2020. The
department of computer science in collaboration with the information technology center take
charge of the training of faculty members.
