The Nest

For you to escape from reality


The nature cell is an inhabited sculpture to enrich the beauty
of surrounding nature. It is a pleasing stop where nature
lovers take a break, cherish nature, and even a selfie. This
15 m2 size pavilion can be built on the ground and hanging
among the trees.
Using the ergonomic and anthropometric standards learned
from project 1, the students will design micro spaces as the
Pavilion, Perdana Botanical Garden following: multi-purpose semi-open areas – for relaxing,
resting & sitting be transformed into bedding.

• Convenient due to great facilities

- Located in the city center
- Highly accessible to various landmarks

• Might be noisy due to sound
pollution by vehicles

• Scarcity of signboards Site Analysis

Sun Analysis
Rises from the west in the morning and sets at the east in the evening.
Potential: 1. Creates mild shadows on the upper platform of the designed pavilion.
MAIN
ENTRANCE 2. Users can enjoy the sunset on the upper deck in the evening.

Wind Analysis
Users feel cool and comfortable most of the time, hence they would enjoy the site better.
Design recommendation: Design an opened space with openings to maximize ventilation.

Circulation Analysis
WEST There is a main entrance from the east side of the site and a secondary entrance from the
(Morning Sun)
west side of the site.
Potential: 1. Provide good circulation for visitors to enter the site.
EAST
(Evening Sun) 2. Connects the part of the site with other islands at Perdana Botanical Garden.

Plants Analysis
There are various species of plants with different heights around the site.

Potential: 1. Uses tall plants to act as design elements. (e.g. Creates a tree house)
