On the 6th of January 2023, our class HM245 hosted Bake n Bites, an annual event hosted by
every 1st semester culinary student. First and foremost, we would like to thank our Faculty for
giving us such an opportunity to hold a small event in our first semester. This event promotes
entrepreneurship and helps students enhance their baking skills.
Furthermore, we are proud of the concept behind that event and look forward to doing more to
support our continued growth in the future. Additionally, we utilized social media websites like
WhatsApp and Telegram to advertise. Besides, we use Instagram and TikTok as our information
sources while simultaneously attempting to provide a track for the event.
The event met our objectives, and we succeeded in making customers fall in love with our sweets
and side products after just one mouthful, in keeping with the theme of the event, "first love at first
bite." It is the point at which the majority of our items, especially the cream puff, eclair, batik cake,
beef lasagna, cinnamon roll, and quiche, are essentially sold out.
The Production Team is in charge of supplying a variety of goods, which is what makes this Bake
and Bite Event successful. The merchandise will be given to the runner by the production team.
The runner will then hand off to the front-house team. Customers will be well-served by the front
desk staff, servers, and cashiers.

1.0 MAIN BODY OF THE BUSINESS PLAN
Bake and Bites Sdn. Bhd. is a private company that focuses on serving and delivering
happiness through dessert and pastries.
The main idea for developing this business is due to group project’s assignment.
Bake and Bites Sdn. Bhd. is based in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Cawangan
Selangor, Kampus Puncak Alam area. We chose this location because it is a very strategic location
that provides all necessary. Besides, this location also has more spaces for students to enjoy their
desserts.
We chose this business because most of the students and staff of UiTM Puncak Alam love
desserts and pastries as it is hard to get any within the campus.

2.0 PURPOSE OF PREPARING A BUSINESS PLAN
This business plan is prepared by the class HTC415B1 & HTC415B2 for the purpose of obtaining
a capital loan from Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management for an amount of RM2,000. This
business plan is also prepared as a guideline for managing the proposed venture. Furthermore, we
also listed down the plans and strategies of the business in order to achieve the goals.

6.0 ADMINISTRATION

6.1. Objective
Bake and Bite event is a final project for subject HTC415, Fundamentals of baking by semester 1
of culinary students. The project was designed to introduce to students the primary and basic skill
of baking sweets and nutrition as making baked goods teaches students to be more aware of the
foods we consume in our body on a daily basis.
6.2 Overview
Bake and Bite event was held on Friday, 6 January 2023, starting from 10a.m. to 3p.m.. Madam
Maria Binti Mohd Saleh, the batch’s lecturer, served as the event coordinator. The products are
divided through 4 groups which are class A1, A2, B1 and B2. Each class sells different food
products. All the prices of the products are affordable for students. The event successfully attracted
the UITM Puncak Alam residents and attended by many students, lecturers and the staff of the
campus.
The Production Team of class B1 and B2 created products in different locations: B1 in Chocolate
Room at level 3 and B2 in Pastry Room 2. Both groups hold the responsibility for providing various
types of products. The Production Team will pass the products to the runner. Then, the runner will
pass to the front house team. Front house team, server and cashier will be responsible for serving
customers well.
The event lived up to expectations, and we were successful in achieving our goals of having
customers fall in love with our sweets and side products after just one bite according to our tagline
‘first love at first bite’. It is when the majority of our products, particularly Cream Puff, Eclair,
Batik Cake, Beef Lasagna, Cinnamon Roll and Tuna Quiche are practically all sold out.

Bake and Bite event use an organizational structure based on function in the organization. This is
because we need to ensure that the event can run smoothly and in an orderly manner. The firm is
divided into high council and subordinates. All of them have their own tasks and need to play a
role in those tasks. This structure suits Bake and Bite event as this organization emphasizes
functionality to perform tasks. Figure illustrates our proposed structure.

6.3 List of position and number of employees
In the bake and bite event, we list out many positions that are suitable with all the students
of HM2451 B1 & B2 who have been participating in this event. Next, we divided into two specific
groups of employees which are the high council and executive council. Furthermore, the listing of
positions in this event also got approval from majority people so that we sincerely decided the
position and were responsible for the tasks given. The diagram below shows the list position and

For our Bake and Bite events, we managed to produce a lot of products which are listed
at the above part. When we produced the products, we used a lot of utensils and tools that were
lent to us by our own faculty. By having complete utensils and tools, we managed to make the
event more successful by producing amazing desserts and food. These are the utensil and tools

Saffron Restaurant was chosen for the event venue. The logistic team are responsible for setting
the venue layout for Bake and Bite. The team members gathered in front of the Saffron Restaurant
before the leaders came to give instructions. Team leader explained to the team about the layout
before dividing them into small groups. Table arrangement started at 8.30am. Below are the layout
of the event :

A financial plan is important for the overall success of the Bake and Bite event as it helps to

Bake and Bite event fixed assets include utensils, machinery, and equipment are all provided by
UiTM. The event working capital for 1 month and 5 days of the administration, marketing,
operation, and other expenditure such as office supplies and sundries all together costs RM55.20.
Table 9a below shows all the expenses incurred.

The total financing sources obtained from our own capital amounting to only RM55.20 as shown
