As someone who enjoys participating in sports, I believe that sports offer a multitude of
benefits beyond just physical health. Engaging in sports can also have a positive impact on
mental health and emotional well-being. Research has shown that regular participation in sports
can lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression while also promoting higher self-esteem and
a better quality of sleep. Moreover, by belonging to a sports team, individuals can develop
important social skills such as teamwork, cooperation, and respect for others.

I used to participate in intramural games/ sport and even other high school activities like
quizzing, badminton, and chess during my senior and junior years of high school.
Chess is my first love and the sport that helped me qualify for the district meet, but
despite winning, I was unable to advance because I didn't meet the age requirements. Chess is
one of the oldest and most well-liked board games, by the way. It is played between two
opponents using specially created checkerboard pieces in opposing colors, usually white and
black. To capture your opponent's king is the game's goal. I also frequently participate in
quizzing, a game or mind sport in which participants attempt to correctly respond to questions
on one or more particular subjects. Quizzes can be used as a quick evaluation tool in education
and related fields to gauge knowledge, skill, and ability growth or just as a pastime. They may
also be broadcast on television for entertainment, frequently in the style of a game show. Last
but not the least, I also played badminton, though infrequently since I usually only play in
badminton tryouts. Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock
across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game
are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is
often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a
rectangular indoor court.

Finally, sports provide structured activities that support health, skill development, and
mental toughness. Sports have become an important component of social infrastructure. Even
though the majority of the sports I play are mind sports, I really enjoy taking part in physical
sports as well because it helps me maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
