In line with the campaign of the Department of Education (DepEd) in equipping
the school children with the knowledge, proper attitude and skills on what to do in case
of a natural and man-made disasters like earthquake and fire, Cabantian National High
School conducted its quarterly earthquake and fire drill in the school campus last June
9, 2022 at exactly 9 o’clock in the morning for earthquake drills. Dr. Liberty L. Rasgo-
Arellano., the school head, led the activity with the teachers simultaneously instructing
also their students at home. The drill was carried out simultaneously and smoothly. All
the teachers occupied the designated area for them based on the school evacuation
plan. Before the conduct of the earthquake, Sir Kymbelle Paul R. Sardido instructed all
the teachers of what to do in case of a disaster like an earthquake. On June 9 during
the morning break a loud sound of bell blurted for one minute as a signal that an
earthquake is currently happening. Everybody in their respective offices ducked and
covered themselves under their armchairs and tables. After that, the teachers headed to
the designated evacuation area located in front of the Principal’s Office Building. Then,
all the teachers did a headcount to make sure that all are accounted for. Mr. Kymbelle
Paul R. Sardido, the school SDRRM Coordinator announced the termination of the drill.
