Topic: Changing circuits
Worksheet # 29
Class 6

Q.1a) Sara has two pieces of bare wire. They are made from the
same material, but one piece is thicker than the other. She wants to
find which wire is best at conducting electricity. She uses a circuit like
this.

Write down two things that Jill must keep

the same to make sure her test is fair.

i. The kind of the bulb.

ii. The voltage of the battery.
b) She then tested “how can we use a wire to change the brightness of
bulbs?” Fill in the gaps about her investigations by using the words
from the box. You do not need to use all the words.

The brightest bulb was in the circuit with the thick wire.
This happened because it is easier for electricity to flow
through a thick wire than a thin wire.

The longer the wire, the brighter the bulb. The shorter
the wire, the brighter the bulb.
