Let’s Reflect
Based on the NCBSSH and the Southeast Asian Competency Framework, do you have the
makings of a school head?
 Yes, I feel I have what it takes to be a principal. To have the makings of a school head,
we must be competent, committed, and accountable in providing access to quality and
relevant education for all through transformational leadership and high levels of
professionalism, so that when we become a school heads someday, we will be familiar
with and capable of handling the various issues or problems in the school. We have the
ability to handle this type of circumstance and enhance schools, particularly student
learning.

Of the listed competencies for school heads in NCBSSH and the Southeast Asian
Competencies, which do you have most? Least? What message does this give you as a
future candidate for the position of school head?

 Because I was educated to be a servant leader for students throughout my educational
path, I have the majority of the mentioned skills for school heads in NCBSSH as well as
the Southeast Asian Competencies: School Leadership and Community Engagement. I
have the fewest of the qualities mentioned for school principals in NCBSSH and the
Southeast Asian Competencies: Personal Excellence because, while I have leadership
abilities, it is not enough for me to lead and make decisions on my own. I struggle with
strategic planning and key decision-making because I am always cautious and skeptical
of my leadership abilities, especially when dealing with a big group of individuals.
School principal`s position? The ability to lead oneself demonstrates one's principles and
interests.
