EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER COMMITTEE (BPOC)
MEETING ON January 1, 2022 at 1:00 O’CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON AT THE BARANGAY HALL, BRGY.
DANAO, ORMOC CITY.
PRESENT:
WHEREAS, Section 16 of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 states that “every local
government unit shall exercise the powers expressly granted, those necessary implied therefrom, as well as powers which
are essential to the promotion of the General Welfare, and to ensure, among other things, the preservation and promotion of
health and safety”.
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9482 “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007” otherwise known as “An Act Providing the Control and
Elimination of Animal Rabies which Prescribed penalties for Violations thereof and Appropriating Funds Therefore;
WHEREAS, to prevent the widespread of rabies and to instill discipline among animal owners;
WHEREAS, to address incidents caused by stray animals in the interest of public safety and health and to promote
responsible pet/animal ownership;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Sangguniang Barangay Member Committee on Peace and Order, Eduardo A.
Laurente, duly seconded by all members present, BE IT;
RESOLVED, as it hereby resolved, to recommend to the Sangguniang Barangay of Danao, Ormoc City to enact ordinance
on the prohibition of all kinds of animals to stray in public places.
RESOLVED FURTHER to furnish copies of this resolution to the Sangguniang Barangay of Danao, Ormoc City.

true faith and allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines, support and defend its constitution; and
obey the laws and decrees promulgated by duty constituted authorities; and I voluntarily impose upon
myself this obligation without any mental reservation purpose of evasion.
