The principles of Wärtsilä NL Service Information

As it is our aim to deliver a product of the latest standard and design, changes and developments
are inevitable.
By publishing Service Information we want to give information about developments which have
taken place after delivery of an engine.

Service Information is intended for users of Wärtsilä NL engines and the Wärtsilä Network.
Depending on the subject this information may relate to either all engines or just a number of
engines.

The documents are classified to purpose as follows:

Service Letter Temporary instruction for recommended actions blue

Technical Bulletin Information about product development and green

modifications

Operating Instruction Additional or amended instructions related to yellow

installation, operation and maintenance

Spare Parts Notice General and specified info about spare parts and orange
tools

Measurement Records Forms used for recording of operating data, red

measuring and testing data

It is recommended to file Service Information documents separate per engine type.

To this end, the consecutive numbering is indicated by the last figures of the document number.

As the distribution of Service Information takes place selectively, the consecutive numbering isn’t
uninterupted.

Note: Some older Service Information documents are showing a document code which differs from
the present codes. However the consecutive numbering has been maintained.
