CONNECTORS are words that join two ideas.


There are different types of connectors
depending on the information in each
sentence to join. Let’s see some of them.

And Expresses addition. It adds some new


information to the previous idea.

I really like Reading book and watching movies.

Expresses contrast. One sentence or clause


says something and the other says the
contrary.
But
I eat vegetables but I don’t like broccoli.

Or
Expresses alternative. We can use it to
give different possibilities or
alternatives.

We can go to the cinema or stay at home.

Expresses a cause or reason. It is


the answer for the question Why? Because
We can’t go on holiday because we don’t have enough
money.

So Expresses the result of something stated in the
previous clause or sentence.

She studied hard for this exam, so she passed it. She is happy!
