I. Objectives

At the end of the 50minutes period, 50% of the students with 75% proficiency level should be
able to:

a. define the state of matter

b.classify the state of matter

a. Topic: State of matter
b. Reference: Everything you need to ace science in one big fat notebook pp.65-67
c.Materials: Pictures of states of matter, realia of state of matter
d. Values: perseverance, enthusiasm

describe based on their characteristics (e.g

examples of solid, liquid and gas.

Defining what is matter


Matter- the thing that occupies space and has
mass.

Three phases of matter:


Solid- A solid will always look the same and
take up the same amount of space. A solid has
definite shape,mass, and volume.

Liquid- A liquid will always take up the same


amount of space and take shape of its
container.

liquid)

Gas- A gas does not always weigh the same or


take up the same amount of space.

(ask the students what are the examples of


Gas)

Teacher will give an activity that will answered


in 3-5 minutes
