I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, Grade 3 pupils should be able to:
a. Classify properly the physical properties of brain storming,
b. Identify the properties of matter through picture analysis and
c. Appreciate the importance of properties of matter in our daily life.

A. Preparatory Activity

2. Motivation
 The teacher will present a game.
 The game called “ Give me my need”
 The teacher will let the students to find the following.

Pencil
Paper
Empty bottle
B. PRESENTATION
 The teacher will let the students to read the objective and present the topic.

C. ACTIVITY
 The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups and each group will be given a
set of pictures. The students classify the picture according to 3 state of
matter and the teacher will give 5 minutes to do the activity.

D. ANALYSIS
 The teacher will check the activity that the class posted on the board to
continue the lesson.

E. ABSTRACTION
Properties of Matter
3 State of Matter:
Solid- A solid has a definite shape and volume because the molecules that make up the
solid are packed closely together and move slowly.
Examples: table, salt, sugar, diamonds, and many other minerals.
Liquid- A liquid has a definite volume but takes the shape of its container.
Example: water and oil.
Gas- A gas has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape.
Examples: air, oxygen, and helium.
