Position Description – Kitchen Steward, Events

1. ORGANISATION
The Adelaide Venue Management Corporation (AVM) is a public corporation with a charter to provide leading convention and entertainment services
through professional event and function management, and maintenance and further improvement of quality venues and customer service for the
commercial, economic and social benefit of the people of South Australia. More information is available at www.avmc.com.au

Corporation Functions (To:)


• Manage and operate AVM venues and maintain operational viability.
• Manage, promote and sponsor event at AVM venues to maximise economic benefit to the State.
• Foster and assist the commercial development of AVM sites/venues in order to complement and enhance the commercial potential of the sites.
• Carry out other functions conferred on AVM by the Minister.

2. PURPOSE OF ROLE
Operating the dishwashing machine or working in the kitchen pot wash area; cleaning and washing all cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans;
maintaining the dishwashing/pot washing area in a clean and hygienic condition and other cleaning duties as directed.

• Remove all used tea towels, swabs and soiled laundry from the kitchen and
steward area and place in the dirty linen trolley adjacent the Uniform Store for
Laundry pick up at the end of each shift.
• Assist with any tasks related to the safe maintenance and smooth running of
Stewarding Operations as required.

• Proven experience working in a corporate kitchen atmosphere highly desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure and take direction in line with a demanding kitchen environment.
• A sound working knowledge of HACCP and/or Food Safety protocols.
• Completed AVM Food Safety Online Training – HACCP in Action, HACCP in the Workplace and Safety In Food
Handling.
• Shift work applicable with the ability to work out of hours in line with Hospitality requirements.
