1.3. ENGINEERING BUSINESS & PLANNING

1.3.1. PURPOSE
SES Engineering Business Development activities are process in Support shops through the
following three stockholders:
1. Engineering Business Development (EBD)
2. Support Shop Planning Cell (SSPC)
3. Work-Shop/Sections

1.3.2. ENGINEERING BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (EBD)


These are the following steps that EBD shall be followed on receipt of any enquiry from the
customer (mostly Outside SES).
1. Check the requirements of the customer (mostly outside SES)
2. Check the provided documents or Information (i.e. Customer Order, etc.)
3. Determine work scope and if found in SES scope, consider it for further action, otherwise
update to the customer for further action.
4. Convey the work request to the SSPC for further action to facilitate the customer.

1.3.3. SUPPORT SHOP PLANNING CELL (SSPC)


After getting an order from the EBD section, SSPC section shall follow the below steps.
1. Check customer’s work request and its related information (i.e. tag, Repair Order,
Customer order etc.),
2. Check required work in the Company Capability List (CCL).
3. Register the work request in the work-order control register.
4. Deliver the work-order to the concerned shop / section with the available supporting
documents for further action.

1.3.4. WORKSHOP/SECTION
After getting an order from SSPC office the Shop/Section Head shall follow the below steps.
1. Check the work scope in the Work-Order (W.O/ARO/UWO) and supporting documents
(i.e. tag, Repair Order, Customer order etc.).
2. Accept the work-order if the required work-scope is found in the Company Capability
List (CCL) and else return back to SSPC with remarks.
3. Register the accepted work-order (W.O/ARO/UWO) in the work-order In-out Registered.
Allocate/Assign the task to the concerned to process the work-shop finding report SES-
EBPO-0011 to final decision.
Note-I: Only Shop head is authorized to approach the customer to arrange required
information, documents, assistance etc. ensure that the data/info and material are
appropriate and updated.
