Reading

I remember my first class at an English course. I had never studied English

before. I was anxious and a little nervous. The class was crowded. I was a little

Existem duas maneiras de se dizer as horas em inglês. Hoje veremos a maneira


mais parecida com a nossa.

What time is it?

1:00 – It´s one o´clock.

4:10 – It´s four ten.

10:25 – It´s ten twenty-five

7:40 – It´s seven forty.

9:50 – It´s nine fifty.

It´s midday
It´s midnight
12:00 It´s twelve o´clock p.m. 12:00
It´s noon. It´s twelve o´clock a.m.

Meio-dia Meia-noite

Em ingles não se costuma dizer

18:00 – Dezoito horas

20:00 – Vinte horas

21:15 – Vinte uma e quinze, etc…

Quando precisamos especificar se o horário é dia ou noite, usamos as iniciais


A.M. e P.M. Essas siglas tem origem no latim e significam:

A.M. – Ante Meridiem (antes do meio-dia)

P.M. – Post Meridiem (após o meio-dia)

Muitos verbose m ingles são seguidos de preposição. Muitos admitem até mais
de uma preposição. Hoje estudaremos alguns deles.

 Talk to OR talk with – falar com alguém

Ex: I am talking to you OR I am talking with you
