The Production Process

COPYEDITING: Our editorial team evaluates all final manuscripts prior to copyediting them.
If a manuscript requires a major revision, authors may be asked to copyedit the manuscript using
an independent professional in line with Anthem’s feedback or we may arrange for such a
copyedit on the authors’ behalf.

TYPESETTING: On completion of copyediting, a final, clean ‘camera‐ready’ manuscript is

prepared. The electronic files are sent to our typesetting team, who will set the text to ‘book’
form and generate the first proofs. The typesetting process takes approximately three weeks, but
may vary according to the length and complexity of the manuscript.

PROOFREADING: The first proofs are sent to the author electronically as a PDF, along with
instructions on how to submit corrections. Corrections to the proofs should be minor – authors
should not rewrite or make substantial additions. The editorial team then reviews the proof
corrections before sending them to the typesetter for implementation.

EBOOKS: After the author approves the final proofs the production team will generate the
ebook in Epub and WebPDF. The ebooks are shared with Anthem’s ebook partners for
distribution to online retail channels and library suppliers.

Typesetting & Composition

Whether your source files are in MS Word format, typeset from a previous edition, or a pile of
hard copies, we can create ready-to-publish files typeset to your exact specifications. We are
adept at handling a wide spectrum of subject matter for special-interest publications and
scholarly journals involving chemical & math formulae, complicated drawings, diagrams &
tables, multi-environment layouts, etc. Our ebook typesetting specialists use software like
InDesign, Framemaker, LaTeX, Advent 3B2, and MS Word to ensure consistency between letter
spacing, word spacing, glyph scaling, and hyphenation. Being the Professional eBook Design

& art into pages, created under the stringent style and formatting guidelines.

We receive the source files and specifications from our clients. Our technical team will then
analyze the document to understand the client requirements and work on creating the template
file and style sheet. The Quality analysts will review the sheet to confirm if it meets the customer
specifications and update the essential amendments to the technical department. Once the sheet is
reviewed and approved, the production department team will prepare the proof files which will
be then viewed by the proofreader to make sure that the pagination and all the customer
requirements are carried out completely.

The proof file will be sent to our quality checkers to ensure accuracy. After the final approval,
the PDF file will be delivered to the customer and if no further corrections are needed, the print-
ready PDF will be delivered. So, with our typesetting service, the manuscript submitted will be
transformed into a visually striking, ready-to-publish masterpiece with enhanced readability.

Copy Editing

We offer a comprehensive copy editing service to revise the material for enhancing readability. It
involves the complete process of going through the manuscript for ensuring consistency,
accuracy, compliance with journal, book, international scientific rules and standards, and
publisher style specifications. The process also includes rectification of sentence errors,
punctuation errors, spelling mistakes, and errors in grammar.     

Artwork/Graphic design
