Strategies

ASSESSMENT

Direction: Observe how your resource teacher assesses students in class. Based on
the topic and learning objectives you have observed, write your five assessment
tools and describe how each assessment tool will be used to assess your future
students.

Topic: Arts and Crafts of Luzon (Highlands and Lowlands)

Learning Objectives:
a. Determine the different materials and techniques used in attire, fabrics, and
tapestries production in the Highlands and lowlands of Luzon;
b. Make/create own attire, fabrics and tapestries using improvised materials
and techniques; and
c. Appreciate the weaving techniques of Luzon by determining the proper used
of elements and principles of art and how it reflects to their culture.

Assessment Tools Description/Function

1. Quizzes I will use this type of assessment tool to my future students

every time I ended up my class in order for me to determine
whether my students really had learned something from my
day to day class with them, and also, so that I could determine
if they really listened to my discussion or lesson to them.
2. Illustrating own I will use this type of assessment tool to my future students
weaving pattern while having this kind of topic or lesson with them in order for
design me to assess their creativity and also their wide range of
imagination through creating their own design about our topic.

Vision: A globally competitive university for science, technology, and environmental conservation. Page 1 of 3

3. Creating Venn I will use this type of assessment tool to my future students
Diagram while having this kind of topic or lesson with them in order for
me to assess if they know how each of the textile or weaving
design differs to each other and how they coincide with each
other.

4. Group Work/Activity I will use this type of assessment tool to my future students
(Creating a Mini-Loom while having this kind of topic or lesson with them in order for
Board Weave) me to assess if they had learned something from me about the
topic I’ve shared or given to them, also, in order for me to
assess of how they would incorporate all of their ideas and/or
own design to the output that I’ve let them made.

5. Exam Lastly, I will use this type of assessment tool to my future

students while having this kind of topic or lesson with them in
order for me to really assess whether they had learned
something from me as the overall basis as a teacher to them.
This type of assessment tool tallies the performance of the
student of how well and how poor they perform in my class.

Analyze the following questions based on what you have observed in class.

1. What happens if the teacher consistently uses the same assessment

strategy?

- If the teacher consistently uses the same assessment strategy then other
students would feel boring and/or there are other students as well would
know techniques on how to get along with the assessments provided by their
teacher. Also, there are students as well that would lose interest or would lose
focus to the subject and would not engage more to the assessment given by
their teacher on the subject.

2. How does assessment help students learn, and teachers perform better?

- Assessment help students learn and teachers perform better for it allows the
students to demonstrate their abilities and knowledge and then reflects how
close they are to meeting educational goals and standards, not just to
students but also to teacher. Teacher would as well know if their learning
outcomes or their objective are well delivered by the students through their
performance that the students provide to their teacher.

3. Which of the assessment strategies has been used more often in class? Why
do you think so?

- The assessment strategies that has been used more often in class is an
objective type of quiz for it would be easier for the teacher to determine if the
students really listened to their discussion and also it would be easier for the
students and the teacher to monitor the performance of their students in time
of their discussion and/or their lesson in class.
