I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of the key concepts of measurement.
B. Performance Standard: The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving measurements and
solve these using a variety of strategies.
C. Learning Competency: The learner describes the development of measurement from the primitive to the
present international system of units.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
At the end of discussion, the students should be able to attain the following:

practice
*Setting goals or objectives (Lipset & Wilson 1993 )
The teacher set standards to have clear goal of the lesson. By doing so, the lesson becomes more focused. Thus,
the teacher is sure of what to teach and because of this the lesson will flow smoothly.
ANNOTATIONS ON OBJECTIVE 16
Objectives
According to Jean Piaget in his cognitive development theory that learners construct their own knowledge by reflecting on
their experiences. Learners engage in real world so they are actively involved in their own learning and development.
Instructional Activities
Activity
According to Ivan Pavlov’s Classical Conditioning approach, a dog will react if there’s a stimulus like a bell. In line with
this, the teacher used a positive reinforcement like additional points in order for the students to be motivated in the class.
Analysis
In this part of the lesson, the teacher used Humanism approach as it is student-centered. Students have the authority to
learn on their own with the aid of activities provided. Because of this, they can answer the questions based on their
experience. Here, they are engage in social skills, feeling and intellect as part of their learning.
It also centered on Pragmatism approach as Johnson et.al., 2011 believe that we learn best through experience.
Assessment
On this part, the teacher used progressivism approach of John Dewey and William Heard Kilpatrick wherein the
teacher acts as facilitator of learning during the discussion to be able to answer the evaluation. On the type of
assessment it provides the learner necessary skills in achieving the objectives.
