ACT I – The Illusion
(There is montage going about how mundane the narrator's life is) Narrator - Yeh phirse hua, teen haftein ho gaye jab mein last acche se soya tha.Yeh Sab shuru hua pichle saal November mein jab coronavirus lag bhag khatam hone ko tha aur log marne ko tayar the siwaye ghar baithne ke. School aur colleges mein bhi online classes shuru hogaye the. Aur mein toh pehle se hin social anxiety se jujh raha tha aur uske saath bhi mujhe college jaana pad raha tha. Na main kisiko jaanna chahta tha na koi mujhe. Har roz ghutan si ho rahi thi lekin ek din…. (A girl from his class notices him standing alone and comes to introduce herself) Maya – Hey (with a sweet smile) Narrator smiles to acknowledge her but does not respond Maya – che din hogaye college start hoke, kitna boring lag raha hai na Narrator – haan (Long awkward silence between the two, little ambiences is shown) Maya – so, kaisa chal raha hai Narrator – haan thik hin hai Marla – so… btw I am maya and you… Narrator – my name is…. (Bell rings and someone calls Maya) Maya – we will catchup later, you can text me on whatsapp, I guess we all have our whatsapp numbers (humare class ka ek common whatsapp group tha) Narrator – yeah sure (and she just goes hurriedly without saying bye) Narrator – aur uss raat jo hua uspe mujhe abhi bhi regret hota hai, maine uska whatsapp no. dhunda aur text kiya, and she replied aur phir hum log roz baatein karte the aur lagta tha hum college ek dusre ke liye hin jaa rahe hain. (then one day the narrator and maya talking while sleeping under a sky.) Maya – ek baat bolun Narrator – haan Maya – tum humesha khoye hue kyun rehte ho, as if tumhe kuch kehna hai lekin bol nahi paa rahe, aisa lag raha hai tum gussa ho iss samaj se Narrator – (mujhe uss din pehli baar ehsaas hua ki maya bolne ke saath sun bhi rahi thi aur woh logon ko acche se pehchan bhi rahi thi, aur baat rahi society, society ki ma aka…. (maya interrupts his thought) Maya – hey, kya hua? Kuch pucha ,maine tumse? Narrator – hum kis society ki baat kar rahe hain, hum sab Gandhi ko bhagwan samajhte jabki who ek nazi supporter tha, aisa lagta hai humare saare heroes, politicians, athlethes sab fake hain. Hum Instagram pe har post par sabko tag karte hain sirf likes badhane ke liye jabki asal zindagi mein hume kiski parwa nahin. Hum addicts se nafrat karte hain jabki hum khud ise sedated rehte hain, chahe ho Netflix se ho ya snapstreak. Lekin iske jimmedar bhi hum hin hain aur hum nahi badalne waale. (maya is flabbergasted) Maya – i think ghar jaane ka time ho gaya… Narrator – I am sorry agar zyada boldiya ho toh Maya – nahi, its okay. Aur haan ek aur baat, it will be better agar hum internals tak baat na kare. Mujhe thoda exam pe focus karna hai (the narrator is getting ready for college because his internal exam is there, he takes a deep breath and smoke comes out of his mouth, he is surprised and coughs uncontrollably. A flash of Tyler appears before him) Narrator - What was that? Who put smoke in my mouth? Forget it let's go to college. ( in college - everyone is engaged with themselves and no one notices the narrator but wait..Narrator sees someone, a tall, white person with long curly hair and eyes that of a baby.. He sees the him) Unknown person - Hello, my name is Tyler (while shaking hand) Narrator - Hii, my name is… Bell rings Narrator - can we resume this after our exam Tyler - yeah sure (all are sitting in the examination hall with Tyler sitting behind the narrator) Narrator - do you know the answer of this question about Dr faustus? Tyler - bro, I know every other answer except this one Narrator - me too (after the exam, narrator is trying to hide away from Tyler though he is waiting for him, then suddenly he sees Marla, she is mixing up with some other boys in the class, they are laughing and beating each other, narrator sees this and immediately goes to tyler) Tyler - hey!, you showed up Narrator - yup, so, what's our plan? The screen cuts and we see both of them sitting near a empty field, holding beer in each hand)
