Note. From the explanation to get the objectives that is needed per activity.

 Reporting and induction to the company/organization on the first day, I reported to love
and care chapter, I was briefly oriented about the organization objectives, mission, vision
and main goals. The internee was also taken into the community to tour so as to get use to
it.
 Joint work Joint work plan with the field supervisor in this activity my duty was to write
down my working days and hours of work and my responsibilities was to attend and ask
questions
 Conducting field surveys/field research about businesses carried out in Nansana. The aim
of this field research was to be able to observe and identify the various business activities
and also discuss the various business activities carried out in Nansana. In order to find out
the best business, in this activity my duty was to observe the kind of businesses around
Nansana to get the best one and my responsibility was to coordinate with the fellow
internees in order the field tour to become a success
 Analysis of data collected from the field surveys/research. The data we collected from the
field was analyzed in such a way that we sat as a team / group we discussed the various
business activities we had observed and we also came up with one business for which we
designed a business plan
 An outreach on business entities around Nansana such as banks, hotels and supermarkets to
see how they prepare their books of accounts and how they carryout, manage their
businesses and finances. Visiting business entities such hotels, petro stations to see how
they prepare their year planners and magazines.
 I also drafted petty cash book. This is the book which shows the amount of money spent on
small items like transport airtime etc. it is normally less than 10,000(ten thousand).
 I entered cash book in the computer where I was able to draw the columns in the overall
total of money spent on petty items such as transport.
 I also entered ledgers in a computer. This is all about knowing the amount of money spent
on particular commodity such as transport, buying of stationary in a financial period.
 Work shop at Nurture Africa in this activity my duty was to know how to protect and to
know about my health since counseling and testing was done, my responsibility was to
attend.
 Front desk in the organization for this activity my duty was to attend to clients and also to
direct them where need be and my responsibility was to receive and welcome them
 Sharing meeting with in the organization here a meeting was shared every Mondays and
my duty was to know the next week’s task and also to present the tasks I completed, my
responsibility was to attend, participate and ask where necessary.
 Taxation work shop by Mr. Mugiri martin here my duty was to know how taxes a levied
and taxed and my responsibility was to attend and understand
 Accounting and auditing books of accounts of the organization my duty in this activity was
to know if the books of account of love and care a balancing and if not I get solution for
that problem and my responsibility was to perform the task successfully
 Income and expenditure account here my duty was to know how the given data can be put
in practical using excel to draft an income and expenditure account and my responsibility
was to understand.
 How to draw a graph using Microsoft excel in this activity my duty was to know how
graphs are drawn using excel and my responsibility was to help others where I have
understood
 Graph interpretation and reporting using graph data my duty here was to know how graphs are
drawn and interpreted and my responsibility was to participate
 Data analysis this activity my duty was to analyze the data I got in the field to be used in
SPSS
Budgeting, while working under the department of business and finance, i was involved in the
preparation of the work plan for LOCCER for the third quarter and latter the budget to be
submitted for funding for the third quarter, budgeting was departmental but the final budget was
the role of the finance department.

Computer Applications, I performed most of the duties with help of a computer. For activities
relating to preparing of proposals the intern used Microsoft office to type, edit and print out
hardcopies, I also used Microsoft excel to prepare budgets and graphs.

Business proposal formulation, among the duties performed at LOCCER is designing business
proposals for various businesses given the needs of the client. I was assigned a responsibility of
executing this task too. With the help of other members i came up with different ideas, evaluated
them and showed that the piggery project was the best.

Project planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, with my field supervisor I
learnt how to write project proposals, the different skills involved in monitoring and evaluation.

Attending health workshops; I was given the opportunity to attend various health workshops
while serving at LOCCER. Most of them rotated around sexual health, Family planning, sexually
transmitted infections, pregnancy and abortion. This kind of engagement transformed the intern
into a more informed health worker and on some occasion the intern was employed to offer
counseling to teenagers.

Preparing grant proposal, I also developed a grant proposal since the major objective of
LOCCER is to have a community that can attain full potential in life, the a grant proposal was
used to seek funds to enable orphans and teachers affected by Covid19 .This was another
opportunity for the intern to learn how to practically prepare the same.

Business proposal formulation, the activity commenced with formulation of a business idea as
a team where each team member contributed a business idea deemed fit, there after ideas were
evaluated depending on circumstances prevailing and a best idea is selected, then writing a
proposal for that chosen idea and one of the accomplished tasks was that of piggery production.
Petty cash book, I was entrusted with the petty cash and I was authorized to disburse cash for
items of daily usage like breakfast for staff, sugar for interns. I was required to report to the
accountant with petty cash report indicating how much was spent, unfortunately the intern was
allocated this role close to the end of the internship period making it a short life span for her to
enjoy fully whole performing such roles.

Taxation, with the guidance of the chief accountant, I was guided on how to file returns for
PAYE for the month of August; I enjoyed this segment of duty as it directly related to the ideas
shared by the lecturer during the taxation lecture.

The field supervisor and the finance and administration team highlighted the literature review for
the organization in humanitarianism and social research fields.

The intern was assigned the duty by the field supervisor to give a presentation with responsibility
to present the field attachment experiences and challenges to the work team

In week one was assigned the duty to participate in an organizational meeting. It was aimed at
orientation, joint work plan formulation for the week and departmental allocation to finance and
administration. On 6th March 2023, the intern performed a research field study duty with the
objective of observing the physical, social, economic and political set up of Nansana municipal.

The intern discovered that there is high economic activity and a vast population filled with social
diversity in Nansana Municipality. The intern also participated in a health workshop focusing on
health marketing and personal health at LOCCER premises.

The intern crowned off the week by compiling a weekly report to capture recordings of all
activities performed in this week.

In week two was assigned with duties of practical accounting and responsibility of observing
errors that don’t affect and affect the trial balance on 11th and 12th June 2021 respectively.
Errors affecting the trail balance included errors of commission; omissions, principle and
complete reversal were observed and corrected. Errors that affect the trial balance including
errors in costing, listing and casting were analyzed and corrected using suspense accounts. .

In week three was assigned the duty to formulate a research questionnaire with a sample size of
10.The research topic was; “A questionnaire on the anticipated effects of the new 2012/2022
financial year budget on the economic activity in Nansana municipality.” S

This was under the facilitation of Ms. Nahabwe Brenda. The intern performed a research field
study duty on this research topic in Nansana Municipality using questionnaires.

The intern discovered that 10 out 10 of the respondents didn’t expect positive effects from the
budget because of the previous mishandling of funds. Only 1 out of 10 of the respondents knew
the contents of the financial year budget. Images of the questionnaires are in appendix 2(a).
After, conducted data analysis of both qualitative data of the narrative data collected from the
field.

The intern was assigned the duty to analyze the quantitative data which is statistical data
collected from the field .

In week four was assigned to duties of employee income, rental income and business income tax
computations under Ms. Namuyomba Susan’s facilitation.

Under employee income tax computations, the intern dealt with tax computations duties for
country residents in Uganda. Under rental income tax computations, dealt with tax computing for
individual and company owned companies.

Under business income tax computation, dealt with the different International ACCA and CPA
approved taxation rates and structure of businesses , learnt the different tax exemptions and laws.
Additionally, compiled weekly June reports into a June Activity month report.
In week five, designed and formulated a business plan as duty assigned by field supervisor, Mr.
Moses Ssenyonjo.
The intern generated the business idea of setting up an internet café and gaming station on
additionally, was assigned with carrying out a research study inquiring setup information from
existing business similar to the business idea, ( note here you will need to start your own project
proposal)

In week six was assigned with the task to generate a business proposal with a proposed budget
less than shs.400, 000. This was under Ms. Namuyomba Susan’s facilitation. The second
business idea was about passion fruit juice production because the intern had skills and it
required less capital and management. The intern was assigned with duties to present the two
business proposals to the work team.

The intern also was assigned manual auditing receipt books and business assets including stock
and stock audit evidence gathering techniques like recalculation, inspection and confirmation.
This was performed on 11th April 2023.

In week seven between15th April and 18th April 2023.The intern was supervised and assessed by
a university supervisor, on 15th April 2023. The intern shared with her the field attachment
experience at LOCCER and learnt a lot from her during this assessment.

In this week, the intern was assigned the duty by the field supervisor to give a presentation with
responsibility to present the field attachment experiences and challenges to the work team on 16th
July 2021

In week eight between 21st April and 26th April 2023.The field supervisor and the finance and
administration team highlighted the literature review for the organization in humanitarianism and
social research fields. The intern also compiled all April weekly reports into a April activity
month report on 26th April 2023.
