Additional information
Operation of CorrTran MV
CorrTran MV multivariable output via HART allows monitoring of general corrosion, localized corrosion, and conductivity using
one transmitter. To utilize all three variables, a HART-compatible device must be used. If none is available, the US-HIM interface
unit will integrate the three variables into separate, independent 4 mA ... 20 mA outputs. Using HART, the primary variable "PV",
the secondary variable "SV", and the tertiary variable "TV" are available, and the user has the option of making either general
or localized corrosion as the primary variable. Conductance cannot be changed and always is the tertiary variable.
Because of the unique algorithm of the calculation method, the Stern-Geary B value is automatically updated during every
measurement cycle. No calibrating in the field or updating this value is required. Through the HART signal, the updated B value
can be acquired.

Conductance
Measurement: Siemens
Range: not adjustable
Measurement cycle
The measurement cycle is the amount of time needed to calculate the corrosion rates and output through the device. This
measurement cycle varies depending on the types of corrosion being measured and can be user set:
• general, localized, and conductance: 21 minutes
• general and conductance: 4 minutes
• localized and conductance: 17 minutes
Adjustment for these variables can be achieved through any HART-compatible device using the CorrTran MV DD or with
PACTwareTM: Pepperl+Fuchs latest generation of configuration software that makes it easy to program equipment from
Pepperl+Fuchs via HART.
