1. Working in pairs capture annotated photographs of the following scenarios using good practice demonstrated in class.
2. Each of your will produce individual evidence of at least 2 of the following:

 Cleaning a computer system

 Maintaining systems
 Repair/replace faulty equipment.

Task Your step by step guide Screen grabs or photographs

Maintaining system 1. I opened the computer case and

inspected it
2. I then grabbed a brush and went
over the computer and it
components
3. After using the bush to make the
dust easier to get to

and brushed it around the
computer
5. I then checked over the computer
to make sure that I had cleaned the
computer to the best of my ability
6. Then I checked that I didnt knock
out after of the hardware and made
sure it was all still working

2. Improve a system by upgrading hardware.

1. Working in pairs capture annotated photographs of the following scenarios using good practice demonstrated in class.
2. You will then produce individual evidence of the following upgrades (at least 3 of the following for each section):

 Add Memory (RAM)

 Installing a CD/DVD Drive
 Upgrading the HDD to an SSD

Task Your step by step guide Screen grabs or photographs Benefits

Add memory 1. I opened the computer

2. I when grab my RAM
stick and put it in the
empty place
3. I then made sure that it
was in right
4. Then I closed it and
made sure that the
computer recessed it
and it worked

This is me putting in the RAM stick

Installing a CD/DVD dive 1. I first opened the
computer
2. Then found where I
needed to screw the
drive in
3. Then I screwed it in
and made sure it was
not able to be
dislodged by accident
4. Then I put the power
plug into the drive and
computer it self
5. Then I open the put the
case back on after

Upgrading HDD to an SSD 1. I backed up the HDD
2. I opened the computer
case
3. Then I unplugged the
wiring that lead to the
HDD and put them to
one side
4. Then I unscrewed the
HDD and put it to one
side
5. Then I screwed in the
SSD where the HDD
uses to be and made
sure it was screwed in
Me unplugging the HDD
properly
6. Then I plugged in the
wire form the HDD so
that the SSD would
now work
7. I closed the case and
made sure that the
computer made it a
storge space and I put
all backed up files back
on the SSD
