The project proposal must be word processed and Section 3 - Evaluation

presented under the headings listed here: (Approximately 50 words)

This section provides an opportunity for you to explain

how you will reflect on and evaluate your work, as both
an ongoing activity and at the conclusion of the
project.

You should describe how you intend to record

your decision-making and how you will document
changes to your ideas as the project
progresses. The evaluation section should
reference your stated aims and
be reflective and analytical rather than a
description of actions completed.

When working in collaboration with others, you

should comment on how this may impact
either positively or adversely and outline the
steps you can take to minimise disruption to your own
progress.

350 word limit of the proposal:

Project action plan and timetable:

This section provides you with an opportunity to

outline your planning and organisation over a
period of weeks and the activities you will need to
carry out in order to successfully complete
your project in the agreed time frame. The more
time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is
likely to be.

It is important that you consider how you will

balance ambition, time and realism in the
realisation of the project. You should also include
what you are going to do, how you will do it
and by when. Remember to include: time spent
sourcing materials and other resources to conduct
research, feedback from tutors and peers, and
when you will carry out independent study.

Bibliography (Harvard Format):

This section provides an opportunity to record the

initial research sources, both primary and
secondary, that you intend to use.

Your sources of research should be as wide

as possible and could include libraries,
galleries, books, magazines, films, computer games,
websites, blogs, social media, radio
programmes, archive material etc. Where
appropriate, you should use the Harvard
system of referencing. The bibliography should be
continuously updated as the
project progresses.

Project Title
Personal Project - Music Magazine

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 100 words)
I think I’ve made a lot of progress during the first 7 units. I made a sports magazine around
November last year and that showed me the way magazine covers are designed and certain
things like logo versatility. I knew basically nothing about graphic design before starting this
course but now I’d like to say I’ve got a decent knowledge of how graphic design works
enough to make me feel confident to work on my project independently. As well as that the
sports magazine has inspired me to make another just on another topic instead.

Section 2: Project
Concept
For my project I will be making a music magazine. It will be called The Vinyl and as well as a
(approx. 200 words) magazine there will also be an app and a website. The magazine will have things such as the
charts from that week, the best-looking album covers in certain genres and reviews of newly
released albums. I will make a concept of the magazine which will contain 16-24 pages, it has
to be done in 4s due to the way the magazines are made. Like I said in section 1 I made a
sports magazine and that is what inspired me to again do a magazine but make it about music
instead of sports. I also plan on making a clothing brand from this but I’ve said I will only do
this once I have completed everything there is to do with the magazine consider it a WOW
task for my personal project. The logo for my brand is going to be a vinyl I designed in
photoshop, and the writing will go either where the detail about the vinyl goes or just a label
on the logo that says the vinyl, I haven’t decided yet, but It'll be either one of those two.

Unit 8 Project Proposal
Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 50 words)
I have gone into detail about what I am going to do and I believe I’ve got it planned out very
well and I’m making sure to document the big steps that happen during the personal project. I
have been told to remember to show progress of my skills and sketch out what the magazine
cover would roughly look like. I could also use focus groups to see what is good with my
magazine and what can potentially be Improved, I will also write an evaluation on how I think
I did.
