INTRODUCTION
▪ In order to complete this project I will construct a new
company and utilise it to hire a new worker.
▪ By doing this I can better demonstrate my knowledge
of hiring procedures.
▪ I'll draw a person's specification a job advertisement
and a job description for the assignment.
▪ The goal of hiring is to select the most qualified
candidate from a pool of applicants(Amstrong,2003)
In the heart of Manchester I'll open a restaurant that
serves unique Balkan and Eastern European cuisine. There
is an increasing demand for foreign meals as more people
BALKAN FOODS from diverse backgrounds move to the UK to live or work.
Balkan food now employs eight people but revenues have
increased recently as a result of the restaurant growing
popularity and peoples ordering from home.

▪ Due to this the kitchen must be enlarged and a Sous Chef is required to support the companies two present chefs
▪ As the restaurant's manager I feel the need to use the kitchen staff to relieve some of the workload by assisting with
general kitchen task as the chefs want
Application of ideas and theory
For a recruitment and selection to be effective six key processes
must be followed.
They include:
▪ Determining whether a position is available
▪ performing a job analysis
▪ requesting and receiving permission to hire a new CEO
▪ creating a job description and person specification and then
advertising the position
(Foot and Hook,2005;Leatherbarrow,2010)Ill apply these steps
in my presentation.
Identify the job vacancy
The goal of new job posting is to fill a vacancy or add
support to current procedures in order to achieve the
company's objectives( Armstrong 2003)
The current chefs in the kitchen were under a lot of pressure
to prepare Balkan food so it was decided to bring in a new
hire to help.
This means that the new hire does not necessarily need to be
a fully qualified chef but rather must have some experience
working in a kitchen or being willing to assist in the kitchen.
