DOES VOLCANIC ERUPTION

 Explosive volcanic eruptions pose both short-term ang long-term
exposion.
 Lava flows and Lahars can wipe out the flanks of mountainsides.
 Eruptions can eject massive quantities of ash into the atmosphere.

NEGATIVE EFFECT:
1. Loss of lives and properties
2. Destuction

POSTIVE EFFECT:
1. Decrease in the Earth’s surface temperature
2. Spectacular scenery
3. Can produce very rich soil

SIGNS OF IMPENDING VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS

1. Incease in the frequency of volcanic quakes with rumbling sounds
2. Increase in the frequency of volcanic activity: change in color of steam
3. Creater glow due to the pressure of the magma at or near the volcano
4. Ground swells (for inflation)
5. Localized landslides and rocks falls from the summit
6. Noticeable increase in the extent of drying up
7. Increase in the temperature of the hot springs and crater lake
8. Noticeable variation in the chemical content of springs
9. Drying up of spring well around the volcano
10. Development of new thermal area and/or reactivation of old ones: appearance
of sulfarata
