Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require Learner
Participation)]
Before the book reading activity, the teacher integrates technology into teaching to prepare children
for counting, measure their knowledge, and improve children's counting and cardinality skills.

Individual Learning Activities   -

Group Learning Activities  Children guess and count numbers together. (Child-
  centered)
Summary
In this activity, it is aimed that children can clearly know the number they count at the end. When
children are asked how many objects they have, they are expected to give a clear answer.
Measurement & Evaluation
The teacher uses the video before the activity to measure the children's knowledge and make a
preliminary assessment. After the activity, it measures children's recall skills by asking questions
about how many objects/animals are related to the book for evaluation. In addition, he evaluates the
skills of the children by asking the children to give me as many pencils as the number of butterflies in
the book, and as many as the number of balls.
Measurement & Assessment Activities for The teacher asks each child to give the desired number

is learning or not.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan

S/he opens the video s/he prepared for this. In the video, before the children see the number, they
count the people and say the number. They also predict the next number. So, after counting people to
5, they are asked how many people are at the end and the children say the exact result. Thus, the
teacher prepares the children for the activity with this video.  The teacher shows the book with
various objects and children examine the book. The teacher reads it and children count the objects
they see. At the end of the activity, the teacher makes the assessment.

If the teacher cannot show the video, s/he can have the children count the human figures or any
object that s/he has prepared beforehand by increasing them one by one. Thus, the teacher can
measure the children's estimation, counting, and cardinality skills as intended in the video.
