Strengths
The establishment of the Local
Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Councils which are

community leaders who are in
charge or leading in disaster
preparedness.
Another strong point for us is the
availability of information about
these programs. Many people
are aware that there are
councilors who are leading in
disaster preparedness. Most of
the community leaders who
joined the council are capable of
handling small problems.
Opportunities
One of our opportunities is the
communication lines of disaster
prevention and mitigation.
There are so many
communication lines that
government can use to reach its
citizens. These communication
lines are people, newspapers,
television and the internet.
The government uses these
communication lines so that
citizens will be informed about
what is happening to their lives.
If there is something bad
happening they know about it
ahead of time so they can
prepare for it.
Weaknesses
Our biggest weakness is our lack
of money. If we were able to
spend more money on these
programs, it will surely help us
in preventing disasters or
reducing their effects when it
happens.
Challenges
One of our challenges for this
topic is the lack of motivation or
just pure laziness on the
members of the council.
We should be more motivated
because working with all those
things like preparing themselves
for disasters, doing house to
house checks, etc.
Takes a lot of time and effort.
This can be discouraging and
discourage them from helping
their community with disaster
preparations.
