TITLE PAGE
The 1/2 storey building were develop for office building. There is a total of 4 floors; Ground
Floor, First Floor, Second Floor, and Third Floor. Before designing the beam, we discuss among
group members to make proper decision in designing each component required. After making
decision, we proceed in designing individual part, followed by other the other beams and
columns. Analysis was made by manual calculation first, and later are checked with STAAD PRO.
Structural steel detailing is significant and mandatory process in all types of construction
activities. It requires deep knowledge in designing structural steel construction and demands
near a 99% accuracy. At the end of this project, we expected to be able to design structural
steel work extensively based on our knowledge. We also have to ensure the design detailing
steps were correctly following the Eurocode 3 BS EN 1993 Part 1-1 and Eurocode 3 BS EN 1993
Part 1-8 for connection design. We also hope to improve the safety of human lives from the
analysis and designing the maximum capacity of steel structure.

2.0 OBJECTIVE
1. To perform detailing design of 1/2 story office block
2. To apply and improve knowledge in designing a steel work structure
3. To cooperate with group members in all progress of the project
4. To ensure all designs were correctly refer to Eurocode 3 BS EN 1993 Part 1-1 and Eurocode

8.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, each and every one of our group was able to complete the required tasks, 2
beams, 2 columns, 2 connections and one truss. All group members have ensured that the designs
were up to the standards by checking all the designs were correctly referred to Eurocode 3 BS
EN 1993 Part 1-1 and Eurocode 3 BS EN 1993 Part 1-8. Each one of our group has participated
in making this report and helping each other understand the designs. We learnt from this project
that the steel designs are much faster than the concrete designs in calculations and in
construction. Steel structure has an aesthetic appeal and high strength.
