III. Project Rationale:

The Brigada Pagbasa, as part of Brigada Eskwela, is an after-school reading program that
envisions bringing together education partners and experts to help all learners read and become
functionally literate. This will serve as a platform to synergize efforts and resources to address
education-related challenges especially on literacy and numeracy. It will also create opportunities for
all stakeholders to contribute possible solutions to the current gaps in the country’s education system,
especially in equipping the learners with 21st century skills.

This project aims to support the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE- LCP) that
envisions in bringing together the community and education partners in making conducive learning
spaces and to help all learners read and become functionally literate.

IV. Project Objectives:

Develop literacy skills among select students

V. Project Description:
This project aims to improve the literacy skills of the students. This also aims to inculcate in
them that reading is important, fun and exciting for they can explore the world through this. This project
can also help the learners become more enthusiastic and be engrossed in reading. The materials and
resources to be made will promote fun reading activities that can help the learners appreciate and love
reading even more.
