CTC reflection essay hailey La Pierre

Did you know that the CTC program is free to grade 12 students? The CTC program is
a program for grade 12s to go to college for specific programs. I found out about baking
and pastry arts which is stuff like decorating/making cakes, bread, and more. Another
CTC program I found out about is carpentry which my brother does for a living.
Throughout research and personal interest, I have gained valuable insights into the
diverse career technical programs offered in Nanaimo, including those that align with
my future career paths specifically. I am most interested in baking which fits well into my
professional aspirations.

I learned about various career/technical training programs in Nanaimo. I have learnt

about how to get into the CTC program and the requirements to be a part of it. I learnt
that almost all of the expenses are covered for each CTC program, and I found out
about the potential jobs you could get with doing any of the CTC programs. By learning
all of these things I can research future careers and other interests I might have.

The program I was most interested in was baking and pastry arts. I am interested in this
program because I love to make food (that tastes good) . I also really like seeing the
end results of things I make, and it just seems like it would be a fun thing to do. All of
these things interested me and I am excited to look more into this career.

These programs fit into my future career because I love baking, and the steps I would
take to pursue it are baking often and making the food I eat. I would like to get a baking
degree and have food safety. I would love to open a bakery and a bookstore connected
to each other. The profits I would make would go back into both. These steps are
important to me to ensure I am prepared for my future career.

I plan to pursue a career in this field using the CTC program in Nanaimo because of my
interest in baking. I learnt about the requirements, expenses, and potential job
opportunities. I was most interested in the baking field because I love to bake. Baking
would be a part of my future because I would feed myself with the food I made. These
were all great facts I learned about these careers. I am excited to learn and research
more about them.
