Narrative Report on The Distribution of Hygiene Kits

Rosario Elementary School, in partnership with the program OK sa DepEd Oplan sa Kalusugan,
conducted the distribution of Hygiene Kits to Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils on June 2, 2023. This is to
ensure that all learners of Kindergarten and grade 1 will be provided individually with hygiene kits.
The distribution of Hygiene kits was conducted through the school health care program headed by
the school dental Dr. Leah Edrozo, DMD, Dentist II together with school head Leonora L. Tuason, PhD
and Teachers of Kindergarten as well as Grade 1 advisers. Each learner from the Kindergarten and Grade
1 was provided with hygiene kit. The school dental Dr. Leah Edrozo discussed and educated the learners
on the basic oral health formation and oral health habits of toothbrushing. She also demonstrated on how
to brush teeth up and down properly for at least three times a day. She further emphasized that
toothbrushing with fluoride toothpaste would prevent gum disease and tooth decay. All these were done
to make the learners understand that toothbrushing is one important way on maintaining good hygiene
and sanitation.
So the learners from the Kindergarten and Grade 1 received hygiene kits consisting one
toothbrush and toothpaste each. The distribution by the DepEd of the dental kits is again a manifestation
of the continuing concern of the school to maintain good health among learners. And this particular
activity has again enhanced the awareness of the learners regarding health and sanitation in line with the
school dental health care program.
