Cables here include all cables for used for power supply, heat tracing, control,
instrumentation, and communication systems in the project
Pulled cable make sure that a sufficient length of cable is available and ready for
installation. Ensure that cable is correct specification according to designed specification
and Cable schedule.
Check the insulation resistance and continuity of the whole cable length in drum to make
sure defects can be determined early.
Execution procedure for cable pulling:
- Bring the cable drums to a convenient lay-down area. Lay the cable winches along
the pulling road at locations with high friction.
- Pull, dress and tie the cable along the route, from start end to destination end,
following specifications.
- Cut the cables at two ends, make sure some contingency length has been reserved.
- Tape the cut ends, to prevent water absorption.
- Mark the two ends with a temporary cable tag, with tape or pen.
- Mark the cable on the cable schedule as “Pulled”.
- Update the installation information for As-built dossier.
- Record cable tag, type and lengths result
