I. OBJECTIVE: At the end of 50 minutes period, 100% of learners are


expected to:

1.Relate the importance of land forms to plants .

III. LEARNING TASK
ELICIT Materials
Ask the pupils:
Can you name some flowers, fruits, tress, vegetables or even
wild plants? Where did these plants mostly found? Have you
gone planting root crops at your farm? How does it feel?
ENGAGE Pictures
1. Review: Ask the pupils to relate the importance of
land forms to people and how these landforms affects
also to plants. Let them explain in simple way.
2. Motivation:

Ask the pupils:


Have you observed different plants from different
landforms? What landform have more plants? And what
landforms have less plants? Why do you think this
happened? Who can relate the importance of land forms to
plants?

Procedures:
*The class will be divided into groups. Have a leader, writer,
and reporter.
*Every group will study the given fact sheet or picture
* Provide question written on task card Please refer to appendix no. 1
* encourage every member will give the answer. for activity sheet and Appendix
*let the group discuss their answers. no. 2 for fact sheets.
* formulate a conclusion or Final answer and write it to the
tally sheet.

Every group has 3 minutes to do .
The group will be evaluated according to the correct answers
they have.

Strategy: Travelling whistle flashcards with question
Procedures:
1. Group leaners into desired number of groups
2. All group members hold a whistle.
3. Teacher flashes a flashcard with questions. The group
member who can blow the whistle first has the chance
to give the answer. If the given answer is wrong, the
other group can answer.
4. If the groups got the correct answer, 1 point will be
given to them for every correct answer. This will
continue until all questions will be answered.

4. The group must discuss their answers and formulate a conclusion or


final answer.

A landform is the physical appearance of the earths

landscape. Mountains, plateau, plains, valleys, hills and other landform are useful

to plants. Plants grow in different land form. It is their home where most plants take

water and nutrients from the soil . It is their place where plant produces carbon

dioxide which is vital for other living organism and a place where plants absorb

sunlight which is necessary for the process of their own food making.

*Store house of resources- nutrients and minerals found in land help plants grow and

reproduce more plants.

* Abundant sources of water-Perennial rivers rising in the heavily rain fed mountains. It

is the important source of water, help promoting the irrigation and provide water for

many plants especially in rainforest

* Plant Preservation as tourist Center- The pleasant climate and beautiful scenery of

plants in landforms have led to the development as center of tourist attraction like

the Banawe Rice terraces and chocolate hill station of Bohol.

*Effect on climate- Mountainous areas have lower temperature. Some plants grow

healthy in lower temperature and other plants can survive in high temperature.

The higher part of the plateau even in tropical and sub-tropical regions

have cool climate. Many vegetables, fruits root-crops and other plants grow

abundantly because of its cool climate. Like plateau of Bukidnon planted with rice,

corn, pineapple, banana and sugar cane.
