Dear Durant Trails Friends, Now that the pool season is in full swing, please review the pool rules with your family. It is most important that close attention is paid to the NO KEY/NO ENTRY policy. This policy is for everyone. Adults and children are required to use a key card. It has been noted that many underage children are using the pool without supervision or approved waiver forms on file. Keep in mind that the lifeguards are there to protect swimmers not to babysit our unsupervised children. Your help is needed to remind your children that supervision and/or a waiver is required to use the pool. The lifeguards have been reminded to be diligent with the pool rules. This is for the safety of everyone. We want to assure that everyone using the pool will have a safe and pleasant experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the board at board@duranttrails.com or Charleston Management at 847-3003. Enjoy your summer! Bebee Arnold, President Durant Trails Homeowners Association Durant Trails Homeowners Association Pool Rules 1. During swim at your own risk times, NO child under 17 or younger will be allowed to swim without adult supervision. This is a state law! 2. No Key, No Entry policy will be followed at all times. 3. During life guarded hours, the following rules are required for children of ages: 10 and under- MUST be accompanied by a parent or other responsible person at least 18 years old and authorized in writing by a parent Between 11-13 years old- the child can attend without adult supervision or an authorized responsible person, however, a parent/child waiver form must be submitted. The form can be obtained through the Durant Trails web site or copies picked up at Charleston management. SHOULD THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CHILD BE DEEMED TO BE UNACCEPTABLE BY THE LIFEGUARDS ON DUTRY, THEN A PARENT WILL BE CONTACTED AND THE CHILD MUST BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY. If a parent is contacted for misbehavior, then the child will no longer be permitted at the pool area without adult supervision. 4. The following is prohibited: Pool Parties (unless HOA sanctioned) Rough play, abusive language Smoking, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, chewing gum Water guns Pets Skateboards, Scooters, Roller blades

5. All homeowners are asked to clean up after themselves when visiting the pool. 6. The toddler pool is only for children 4 years old and younger 7. Diaper age children must wear swim diapers with additional rubber pants. Contamination resulting from improper protection will affect pool operation. It contamination occurs, report the incident to the lifeguard immediately. 8. There will be a 10-minute rest period every hour for everyone under 18 years of age. Lifeguards are not on duty during this time. 9. Large flotation devices (rafts, inner tubes, wave board, etc.) will not be allowed in the pool; kick boards, noodles, water wings and infant floats are allowed. Only soft sponge balls permitted. 10. All guests must be accompanied by a homeowner at all time. Grandparents are exempt from this rule as well as caregivers over age 18.

Parent/Child Waiver Form This waiver form gives my consent to Durant Trails that my child who is between 11-13 years old to be at the Durant Trails pool area without supervision and accept full responsibility for his/her actions. If their behavior is deemed unacceptable by the lifeguard on duty at the time, then I will be contacted AND will pick my child up immediately.
