BBFC-

About-

The BBFC is the British Board of Film Classification, which is

responsible for classifying films, videos, and video games in the UK.
BBFC’s focus is on helping children and
families choose well by providing them with
the guidance they need to help them choose
what’s right for them and avoid what’s not.

The BBFC has been classifying films in the

UK since 112, and it is a non governmental
organisation. The BBFC uses a set of
guidelines to determine the appropriate age
rating for a film or video, which takes into account factors such as
violence, sex, language, and drug use. The BBFC also consults
with the public and experts in the film industry to help inform its
decisions.

Classification-

Universal-
A U rating from the BBFC stands for Universal. It means that a film
or video is suitable for all audiences, including children, and there is
nothing in the content that would be considered for young viewers.
The BBFC guidelines state that a U rating should not contain any
violence, sex, or offensive language, and it should be suitable for
young children to watch on their own.

PG-
The PG rating from the BBFC stands for Parental Guidance. It
means that a film or video may contain content that is not suitable
for very young children, but can be watched with parental guidance.
The content may include mild violence, mild language, or scenes
that could be frightening or upsetting for young children. The BBFC
recommends that parents or guardians should watch a PG-rated
film or video with their children to help them understand the content.

12-
The 12 rating from the BBFC means that the content of a film or
video is generally suitable for children aged 12 and over. However,
the content may include mind violence, moderate language, and
brief nudity or sexual references. Films and videos rated 12 may
include some scenes that younger viewers may find disturbing or
confusing, but the overall tone and content of the film or video is not
considered to be inappropriate for viewers aged 12 and over.
The BBFC 15 rating means that the content of a film or video is
generally suitable for viewers aged 15 and over. The content may
include strong violence, strong language, and/or strong sex or drug
references. The BBFC is responsible for classifying films and
videos in the UK, and their ratings are designed to help parents and
other viewers make informed decisions about what they watch.
Films and videos rated 15 may contain scenes of violence or other
content that is not suitable for younger viewers.

The BBFC 18 rating means that the content of a film or video is only
suitable for adults aged 18 and over. The content may include
strong violence, strong language, strong sex, or drug use. The
BBFC is responsible for classifying films and videos in the UK, and
their ratings are designed to help parents and other viewers make
informed decisions about what they watch. Films and videos rated
18 may contain scenes of violence, sex, or drug use that are not
suitable for younger viewers.

Film Classification-
As a group we have decided our short film is rated PG. The reason
why we have decided that the rating is PG is because our short film
is about a girl who had been given a lottery ticket by her parents
and the short film includes mild language. This short film is suitable
for all ages as it does not include any violence or strong language.
