My name is Dr. Arif Goreja and I am a nephrologist associated with Beacon Health
System in South Bend, IN. I am thrilled to extend my recommendation of Ms. Reagan Bishop in
her application for medical school, as I am confident she will become an excellent physician.

Ms. Bishop has worked as a Patient Care Technician in a Hemodialysis Clinic at which
many of my end-stage renal disease patients treat. Over the year and a half that she has worked at
this clinic, I have gotten to know her and am confident she is prepared to pursue a career as a
physician. Her role at the clinic provides a unique clinical experience working with patients,
which certainly has prepared her to become a quality physician. This role requires the execution
of clinical skills, such as monitoring patient vitals and providing patient education, which she
excitedly and effectively performs routinely. The direct patient care experience Ms. Bishop has
gained from this role distinguishes her from other medical school applicants and will
undoubtedly benefit her and her patients in her future medical career.

Furthermore, Ms. Bishop has demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills as a

compassionate, mature individual. I have observed her interactions with both co-workers and
patients, in which she maintains professionalism and an easy-going nature. Ms. Bishop is a
noticeably hard worker and team player who maintains a positive attitude throughout her day.
While working full-time as a graduate student, she has demonstrated her dedication to the field
and resilience within high-stress environments. Additionally, Ms. Bishop has demonstrated
positive and appropriate bedside manner in her interactions with patients. She regularly
demonstrates compassion and empathy in working with patients to ease their discomfort during
their treatments. She exhibits a natural ability to work with and care for others which I am
confident will support her success in her medical career.

Further, she has demonstrated her passion for learning medicine in her interactions with
myself. Ms. Bishop has regularly proved herself to be knowledgeable of my patient’s condition
and effectively communicates complications with myself and her colleagues. She consistently
demonstrates her inquisitive nature by asking thoughtful questions regarding patients and
excitedly engages in these discussions. I am confident that the experiences and qualities of Ms.
Bishop will make her a wonderful addition to any medical school.
