Supervisor Meetings
01 Will be scheduling supervisory meetings with the
allocated supervisor & it is the students’
responsibility to attend the meetings without
failure.
If the student couldn’t attend the meeting on the
particular day, it is his/her duty to contact the
supervisor & re-schedule a meeting accordingly.

* Attending 03 official supervisor meetings are mandatory.

02 If a student wants to change his/her supervisor,
it should be done before the 1st meeting is
arranged & the student must provide valid
reasons for requesting a new supervisor.

Kindly be informed that this decision will be

taken solely by the Examination Board
Committee and everyone should accept the
committee board final result.

Supervisor Meetings
Please be informed that all the allocated
03 supervisors are expertise from different fields
and the students should respect every
supervisor’s advises given during your
supervisory meetings.

If you won’t be able to attend on a particular

meeting date, be kind enough to drop an e-mail
to Research Unit copying your supervisor at
least 01 day prior to the meeting.

Gathering Data

If a student wants a letter from ICBT to provide it to a

company to conduct his/her research survey, he/she
should request the letter as soon as the 1st official meeting
is over.
Kindly be informed that it will take 02 – 04 official days to
issue the requested letter.

Ethics Exemplar Pack

All the students must fill the relevant Ethics Exemplar

forms in order to support your research survey and you can
get your supervisors’ advises when filling the forms. (Ethics
Exemplar 01 is mandatory for all the students)

Attaching Ethics Exemplar forms as appendix is

mandatory.

All the students are required to maintain a percentage which is as low

as possible as per the University Academic Rules.

Submission – General Instructions

1. On the submission date : Submission deadline will be 4.00pm and all the submissions after the deadline will
be marked as late submission and late submission penalty will be added.
2. Submitting the soft copies to ICBT SIS will be considered as the student has submitted the final dissertation.
3. Late submission will be accepted for 03 days from the actual submission date and a late submission penalty
will be added.
4. Students who won’t be able to submit the dissertation must provide Mitigation documents along with valid
proof documents but the acceptance of your mitigation is solely decided by the Examination Board and all the
students should accept the result. (Please refer the Students’ Handbook for more information about mitigation
procedure and payments)
5. If a student fails to submit mitigation, that will be considered as a Non Attempt (repeat) and the marks will be
capped to 50%.
6. All the students MUST read the dissertation handbook as all the instructions have been mentioned clearly in
the handbook.
7. Every student is required to sort out the issues related to Cardiff Met portal logins or financial issues at least
one week before the submission. (ICBT is not responsible for the login errors in Cardiff Moodle)
8. We strictly advise you to check and be ready with your final turnitin report at least 3-4 days’ prior the
submission date.

VIVA Examination
VIVA Examination will be scheduled
