REFLECTION PAPER

“Not everything you see on the internet is real”, a famous quote and reminder

that is being told to every one in the modern world. Yes, we can say that ICT

provides us a big help in a wide range of fields yet there’s still safety issues

that we still need to consider. The lesson 2 topic about Safety Issues on the

use of ICT including e-safety rules gave us more knowledge on how it will

continuously offer us risks if you can’t manage it carefully. Online and social

media platform have a lot of risks that we all should be aware of because most

of the youths and children nowadays are into technology and they should be

guarded and guided because they might be exposed to something that is

irrelevant and unhealthy to a child’s mind. Technology is now widely used by

everyone and you can also do anything with it and that’s why it can affect

someone’s lifestyle and behavior. Social media keeps us connected in the

huge digital world and is a part of our daily life. It is more important than ever

to be conscious of our social media usage and how to use it properly in order

to improve our mental health and live a more productive and satisfying life.

Some could use internet to fool you or even some could use social media to

scam you and that is why we all need to be wise how to moderate it. As a
future educator, being responsible enough to use ICT and having an advance

knowledge about its safety and usage will keep us up because a teacher who

is computer literate and could formulate safety method to the students is such

an honor and a great responsibility. To bring back to what is being stated here

in the first sentence, “not everything you see is true”, because internet can

somehow be tricky and it can still be used against us by some other person

who did nothing but to scam and use it in an irresponsible way. Technology

can be said to be very addictive as a result of its convenience and the

easy comfort sources accompanied with entertainment that it offers

however, we all still have to be wise for us not to be a slave of those

advantages of ICT.
