Pilot Training Program on NILP Implementations

DAY – 1
Date – 23 January, 2023
On the First Day , Session was started with the registration & orientation. After that we were
taught about the basics of NILP ( New India Literacy Program), its objective & 11 Modules . Then
we were learnt about Adult Literacy , NILP as Janaandolan and History of Literacy Programs . After
Lunch , we learnt about the NILP learner on the basis of age, condition of work & socio-economic
condition. Then at the last , were covered the awareness generation & environment building
module .

DAY - 2

Date - 24 January, 2023


On the second day , session was started with the recapitulation of the previously done things.
Then we were learnt about the role of Volunteer teacher in the successful implementation of
NILP. After Lunch we had done role plays on volunteer teacher & learner in order to understand
their role in NILP & challenges comes during the process of teaching & learning. Then we
understood about the primer ‘ Ujaas’ . That day session was more practical based , we understood
the things better during role play.
DAY - 3
Date- 25 January, 2023
At the last day , we understood about the assessment & certification in NILP and
why it is important to have assessment of the learner. We had also learnt about
Continuing education in NILP & different types of resources available for the
learner. We were told about many field experiences at the end of the session.

Key Learnings –
• Clarity on the Adult Literacy & how it is important in Nation Building .
• Understood about the Role of Volunteer teacher & piloting of the primer.
• For the successful implementation of any program , regular follow ups should
be there.

Application in present subject –


We currently persuing subject ( Community organisation, social policy &
Development ) in which we have to interact with community members in order to
understand their problem & challenges . So , this training program helped us to
know about how to work in the field and how important is the role of the extension
worker in the successful implementation of any social work. What would be the
criteria in which we have to identify our learners . Then only we can understand
our learner & work well according to their needs & problems.
