Inside Cleaning Procedure

1. INTRODUCTION
PT. AMMAN MINERAL NUSA TENGGARA, hereinafter known as COMPANY, in this case
appoints PT Baharu Penta Kencana to carrying out the procurement and construction work for
Construction & Supply of Utility System at Laydown 10 Project, including Civil, Mechanical,
Piping, Steel Structure and Electrical Work. Project is located in West Nusa Tenggara,
Sumbawa - Indonesia.

Appendix AScope
This procedure covers the inside cleaning work from shop fabrication (pre-cleaned) for
maintain, and protect from corrosion attack during material delivered, field flushing and
cleaning requirement after installation and testing.

Appendix BDefinition
 “COMPANY” means PT AMMAN MINERAL NUSA TENGGARA
 “CONTRACTOR” means PT BAHARU PENTA KENCANA.

Appendix C Terminology
 Cleaning: The process of removing deposits, scale, corrosion products, or other
foulants which restrict flow, impair heat transfer, or contaminate the product being
conveyed in the piping systems.
 Degree of Cleaning: A detailed description of the exact extent to which contaminants
shall be removed from the piping system, and what level of remaining contamination
is acceptable.
 Field Cleaning: Any cleaning procedure performed on piping systems after field
installation.
 Flushing: Circulating flushing fluid at sufficient velocity to remove all foreign matter.
 Pre-cleaned Products: Materials that have been chemically or mechanically cleaned,
disinfected, passivated, rinsed, pickled, or protected from corrosion, or had any paint
stripped from their surfaces by the shop fabricator or manufacturer before installation.

3. EXECUTION
3.1. Shop Fabrication Cleaning Procedure
a) Preparation for Cleaning
All pipe runs and joints shall be visually inspected for proper Fabrication.
b) Materials
Fresh, clean water shall be used as the flushing and cleaning agent.
c) Equipment
Not apllicable
d) Cleaning Procedure
 Materials that are to be supplied pre-cleaned by the shop fabricator are shown on
the piping contract drawings.
 Completely remove all weld slag, flux, debris, grease, oil, and foreign matter from
the surfaces of the material after fabrication has been completed.
 All cleaned surfaces shall be protected from recontamination by using covers,
plugs, caps, wrapping or other devices suitable to the purpose.
e) Chemical Solution and Rinse Disposal
Not applicable.
f) Degree of Cleaning
Not applicable.
g) Inspection Procedure
Completely remove all weld slag, flux, debris, grease, oil, and foreign matter from the
surfaces of the material after fabrication has been completed and ready for packing.
h) Post-Cleaning Procedure
After everything is clean accordance to the provisions, packing will be done in
accordance with the previsions that apply to this project.

3.2. Field Installation Cleaning Procedure


a) Scope of Procedure
This procedure covers flushing and cleaning of piping systems after assembly and
erection.
b) Preparation for Cleaning Procedure
 All pipe runs and joints shall be visually inspected for proper installation and
continuity.
 Equipment with restricted flow passages or inaccessible areas where sediment
could collect shall either be bypassed or furnished with adequately sized
temporary protection strainers.
 If system pumps are to be used for flushing and do not have a permanent suction
strainer, they shall then have a temporary strainer installed between the suction
valve and the pump. The temporary strainer shall be in accordance with the line
class and specification.

 Where flushing water is recirculated and not wasted to sewers, temporary


strainers and/or baskets shall be installed at all sumps, tanks, and other
accessible areas where extraneous material flushed from the piping system can
be collected and removed.
 To prevent contamination of instruments, all instrumentation lines shall be
disconnected during the flushing operation. These lines shall be cleaned
separately by blowing out with air or flushing with water. All instrumentation lines
are to be reconnected after completion of the cleaning operation.
 This process will be implemented carried out during commissioining.
c) Materials
Fresh, clean water shall be used as the flushing and cleaning agent.
d) Equipment
Filling Pump or Pressure pump.
e) Cleaning Procedure
 All pipe lines shall be flushed at no less than their design flow rate. Where
possible, piping systems should be sectionalized, and full system flow rates
provided through individual sections. Large diameter lines where design flow
rates are not practical shall have flow rates specified by Amman mineral Field
Engineer. Strainers and baskets should be inspected frequently during the
flushing operation and cleaned if necessary.
f) Chemical Solution and Rinse Disposal
Not applicable.
g) Degree of Cleaning
Removal of all loose nonadherent material together with all adherent material that
could break away during operation of the equipment.
h) Inspection Procedure
Flushing operations shall continue until extraneous material is no longer collected at
strainers and baskets.
i) Post-Cleaning Procedure
Upon completion of flushing, all temporary strainers and baskets shall be removed
from the piping system unless otherwise specified by Amman mineral Field Engineer.
Tanks and sumps are to be drained and thoroughly cleaned. Equipment and piping
shall be returned to their preflush condition.

4. ACEPTANCE CRITERIA
Cleaning activities for this scope of this project must be full witnessed by QA/QC COMPANY by
the following approval procedure and shall be done or released by him/her approval.

5. SAFETY PRECAUTION
1. Pre-job execution:
 Correct Job Safety Assessment (JSA) shall be done before executing the work and
communicating to all crew on daily basis.
 Correct JEA (Job Environmental Analysis) shall be done prior to execute the work and
recorded in the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) format.
2. Equipment & Tools Inspection
 All equipment shall pass pre-mobilization inspection.
 All equipment shall be completed with standard operating procedure.
3. Manpower Qualification
 All workers shall pass medical assessment prior to site mobilization.
 All workers shall receive induction and required training for doing the job.
 All workers shall be competent to perform the job properly in the safe manner.
 Operation shall only be executed on the presence of proper supervision.
 SHE personnel shall be assigned to monitor the compliance of all regulation.
4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be worn as appropriate
 Safety helmet (mandatory),
 Safety shoes (mandatory),
 Safety goggles (mandatory),
 Safety gloves (mandatory),
 Working clothes that cover upper arm, body and leg (to ankle),
 Other personnel protective equipment as required by the job.
2. Safety program shall be implemented but not limited to the following requirement:
 Emergency system to anticipate any possible emergency including first aid system and
incident reporting.
 Environmental and waste management system.
3. Safety practice shall be implemented but not limited to the following requirement and toolbox
meeting shall be conducted prior to the commencement of the work.
4. All Flange connections shall be checked to avoid the lose bolt that can cause injury.
5. Where flushing and blowing is being carry out, the effective area shall be barricade and
warning sign board shall be displayed as well.
6. Only authorized person involved are allowed entering the test area. To prevent un wanted
person to entry the area, a watch man together with the safety man will guard during testing.
7. No body standing behind end of pipe the being tested.
8. Checked the thickness of temporary blind, flange and spool is as per design.
9. Chain and lock for preventing unauthorized operation of valve.
10. Personal Protective Equipment shall be worn throughout the cleaning duration.
