1. Hi Clare,

I recommend that you visit York. It’s a really beautiful city but
it can be very busy in the Spring and Summer. On our next trip I’d
like to take my son to Edinburgh because it’s also a very old and
interesting city and he loves castles.

I hope you are well. I’ve recently been on a trip to York and I
want to tell you about it. Have you ever been to York?

When we arrived we went to the National Railway museum

because my son loves trains. The museum is free. We had some lunch
in the café and then we got on the bus and went to York Minster. My
son loved looking at the big windows. Then we walked down the
famous old street called the Shambles. Although it was raining we
had a lovely day out. If we go again we will go on a sunny day.

See you soon

Sally

Before we went to York I went on Trip Advisor to see what the

best attractions were and I looked at train tickets online. The
tickets were quite cheap so I bought them straight away. If you
want to travel by train buy your tickets in advance.

I went with my husband and my two-year-old son to celebrate

my birthday. It was my son and husband’s first visit to York.
