SUBJECT: DISSEMINATION OF DIVISION MEMORANDUM NO. 265 S. 2023 TITLED

“CONGRATULATORY MEMORANDUM FOR THE WINNERS OF IMPROVISED
SCRABBLE CONTEST”

Date: June 1, 2023

1. To support DepEd Order No. 70 s. 2011 titled “Every Child a Reader Program”, DepEd
Memorandum 173 s. 2019 titled “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3 B’s Initiative) and to
celebrate the creation of Scrabble by American Architect Alfred Mosher Butts, the City
Schools Division of the City of Tayabas launched the utilization of Scrabble as an
intervention tool to enhance vocabulary of learners.

2. With the theme “Vocabulary and Knowledge Building: Gatekeepers to Reading

Comprehension,” a contest on improvised scrabble was conducted on May 13 – 19,
2023. Winners are hereby announced.
