This is something I need
to work on more. I
include cultural norms
and family connections
into the content and
classroom through
historical references,
however allowing for
more community and
family interactions
within my classroom
could further my
students comprehension
and understanding.
Perhaps I could include a
project which focuses on
the community and
family with connections
to the subject and
content we are learning.
Most of my references
are general references
and do not necessarily
focus on specific families
or students, which could
cause some bias and

I hold high expectations for myself and my students
both inside and outside the classroom. Norms at
Troy high school include academic integrity, honesty,
and dedication. As a teacher I hold academic and
professional integrity by continuing my education
and attending professional development workshops
that can improve my teaching and overall
understanding of the school culture. I maintain
professionalism within the classroom by addressing
racism, sexism, and bigotry and I hold students
accountable for their actions. I hold myself
accountable for any mistakes or wrongdoings and I
address my own personal bias. I continue to grow as
an educator by collaborating with my peers and
furthering my understanding of the school culture.
