Write your answers here:

1. Literacy in general is a vital part of being an effective educator. As someone who would bring
knowledge to his/her learners, we need to be concerned with improving student achievements.
And we can make this happen by integrating 21st-century literacies in the process. Teachers are
expected to not just teach the learners how to read and write. There are now multiple literacies
that can enable effective learning objectives for students such as media literacy. Moreover, as
new technologies shape literacies, these help educators foster relevant skills in their learners in
a diverse context.
2. If I understood the question correctly, a literacy area that I think needs improvement is financial
literacy. I was actually surprised when I saw the assigned report to me. In all honesty, this is the
most relevant literacy not just for me but speaking at the national level. I’m not that well-versed
in the said area of literacy and I am glad this will be tackled in this subject in TCP. And I am
excited to develop skills when it comes to handling finances. With this, I will be more confident
to teach my students to be wiser when it comes to decision-making in terms of money.
