NARRATIVE REPORT ON FEEDING POGRAM AND HEALTH TEACHING

The NSTP students from the College of Nursing and the students from
CBAPA executed an initiative that targeted the improvement of the children in the
indicated barangay in order to promote better health, cleanliness, and financial literacy
among children in Barangay San Fabian, Echague, Isabela. The program, which was
introduced on July 17, 2023, intended to educate kids about maintaining proper
hygiene and raise awareness of it. The program began on a pleasant day. We were
happy and fortunate that the Barangay Council, which was led by Barangay Captain
Mariano of the aforementioned barrio, and our NSTP professors assisted us in
planning and successfully completing this project. A student from CBAPA led the
opening session, which served as the official start of the program, followed by an
opening remark and a zumba.

The BSN students emphasized the significance of proper oral hygiene,

taking a bath, cleaning one's face, eyes, and nose, and washing their hands properly.
In order to stop the spread of infectious diseases and ensure that children enjoy long,
healthy lives, good cleanliness is essential. Additionally, it keeps children from
skipping class, which improves learning results. Families that practice good hygiene
will stay healthy and pay less on medical expenses.

The CBAPA students talked about financial literacy, or how to spend

money properly. Having their own money to spend can help kids learn how much
things cost, how to make decisions more carefully, and how to save up for bigger
purchases. Children have learned that saving money for necessities teaches them that
money is necessary for daily expenditures. Financial literacy matters because it equips
us with the knowledge we need to handle our money sensibly. Without financial
knowledge, we can make poor choices when it comes to saving or investing our
money.

While the NSTP students were discussing, there were ready-made

meals so that the children who attended the program wouldn't feel hungry, there were
icebreakers that entertained the kids, and there were a lot of prizes, which made the
kids super happy. Before the program came to an end, the NSTP instructors talked
briefly to thank the students, the officials of the Barangay, the children, and their
parents for allowing them to take part in it. Finally, the program ended with a closing
remark, and the students cleaned the area a little bit before they went home.
