3. Mention 3 signs and symptoms of tuberculosis!
4. Explain 7 ways to prevent transmission of tuberculosis!

Activity plan: Orientation:

Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings,
Good morning ladies and gentlemen
Introducing me Nurse Saapna Triyaningsih, here I will explain what
tuberculosis is, how tuberculosis is transmitted, signs and symptoms of
tuberculosis and how to prevent tuberculosis transmission. Previously, I
asked for your time, ladies and gentlemen. In the next 40 minutes, do
you agree?

Work steps: 1. The first 10 minutes explain what tuberculosis is

(Tuberculosis (TB))is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium

Mycobacterium tuberculosis. These germs can attack parts of our body
such as the lungs, joints, intestines, lymph nodes, lining of the brain,
and others. TB can be cured with proper treatment, if not it can cause
death. TB attacks a third of the 1.9 billion world population today.
Aditama (2000) always said that every second there is 1 person
infected with TB in the world. Every year there are 8 million new TB
sufferers and 3 million will die each year. 1% of the world's population
will be infected with tuberculosis each year. One person has the
potential to infect 10 to 15 people in 1 year. (Umar Fahmi: 272) The
Household Health Survey (2001) shows that TB ranks third as a cause
of death (9.)

2. The second 10 minutes explains how tuberculosis is transmitted

TB germs are spread by TB sufferers who have not been treated, who
cough and sneeze without covering their mouths and then enter the
human lungs through the respiratory tract. Mycobacterium tuberculosis
can also enter the body through the digestive tract and open wounds on
the skin (less frequently). TB can attack anyone (male, female, old,
young, poor or rich). Especially those who live in dark, damp, and
poorly ventilated houses.

3. The third 10 minutes mention the signs and symptoms of tuberculosis

1. Main Symptoms: Cough with phlegm for 3 weeks or more
2. Additional Symptoms:
a. Fever and chills a month or more
b. Chest pain and shortness of breath
c. Appetite and weight decreased
d. Sputum mixed with blood
e. Sweating at night without activity
f. Weak body, lack of passion
4. The fourth 10 minutes explains how to prevent transmission of
tuberculosis
1.Cover your mouth when sneezing and coughing
2. Don't spit anywhere
3. Good house ventilation so that air and sunlight enter the room
4. Get enough sleep and rest
5. Increase body resistance with balanced nutrition
6. Do not smoke and drink alcoholic beverages
7. Exercise regularly
Termination: One meeting is enough because the community already understands and is able to
explain all objectives. The meeting was stopped.
Evaluation.: The community has been able to explain and mention specific goals and understand
very well how to prevent tuberculosis transmission.
