8 Third Quarter 5TH week & 3RD 1
day
I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
A. Content Standards
the one-way flow of energy and the cycling of materials in an ecosystem
The learners shall be able to:
B. Performance Standards 1. make a poster comparing food choices based on the trophic levels’.
ELICIT
B. Reviewing previous lesson The teacher will have a brief review of the previous lessons about Photosynthesis.
or presenting the new Q1. Why do we consider the sun as the greatest source of energy in our planet?
lesson Q2: Explain briefly the process of photosynthesis.
Q3: Why is photosynthesis important?
ENGAGE
Pic-A-Word
Instructions:
1. Guess the following SCRAMBLED LETTERS by its definition:
SISSYMBIO
The relationship between two different kinds of living things that live together and
depend on each other.
SYSECOMET
A community of living organisms called producers, consumers, and decomposers
DUPROCER
D. Presenting Organisms that can produce their own food through the process called
examples/instances of the photosynthesis
new lesson
MERSUCON
Organisms that feed on other organisms
SERPODECOM
Organisms that breakdown dead plants, animals, or waste.
Part 2
PIC+A= WORD
Instruction: Guess the word being referred by the pictures and letters.
(The teacher will transition from the activity to the lesson proper)
EXPLORE
(The teacher will present the lesson through Guided/Exploratory Approach:
Inductive learning method)
Reading Stories
The students will read stories of living and non-living things and their roles in the
ecosystem.
Decomposers are organisms that break down dead plants, animals, or waste.
Note that there are three types of animals according to their diet/food are
carnivores, herbivores, omnivores.
Predators are organism that hunts for food while Preys are organisms that are
being hunted by predator.
Food chain is a linear sequence of that shows how the organisms are related with
each other by the food they eat.
Food web is the natural interconnection of food chains and generally a graphical
representation of what-eats-what in an ecological community. Another name
for food web is a consumer-resource system.
(A short video analysis about predator and prey relationship will be presented)
Materials: Manila paper, coloring materials, markers, pencil (for poster making)
Clean sheet of paper, ballpen (for poem)
Props (for role playing)
To uphold cultural and religious sensitivity the teacher will ask the students on
their religious affiliations (Islam, Jehova’s witnesses, Mormons – Tagalog,
Indigenous People) and assign tasks to them which are ammenable to their
religious and indigenous practices.
Instruction:
1. The learners will be grouped into 3 and choose their leaders.
2. They will be tasked to present a differentiated activities about the lesson on “Food
Chain and Food Web” according to their group.
(The teacher will process the presentation and provides supplemental information.)
EXPLAIN
To promote higher order thingking skills of learners, the teacher will post the
following guide questions:
(the teacher will call the learners randomly to answer the given questions based on
their understanding of the lesson/discussion)
EVALUATE
A. Self-check Card (The students must check each indicator to verify if objectives are
achieved)
SELF-CHECK CARD
EXTEND
Assignment:
Instructions:
1. Answer the activities in google docs. Search the weblink given below:
https://forms.gle/7233doqephKyeR92A
2. Fill up the necessary details of the questionnaire (name and answers
are required)
3. Learners are required to answer the activity from 6:00- 9:00 PM only.
4. The time for the completion of the questionnaire will be reflected on
the data of the google docs. Late submission of answers will be
automatically disregarded by the system. Thus, answer it in the given
time required.
(please see attached sample of google docs.)
Note: This link is a teacher made online assessment for students who have good
access to internet. This will serve as a homework for the learners and to be
accomplished in a given time. This will be recorded as part of written work and
performance task since there is an application & integration of ICT.
The class session has ended in the allotted time and the objectives were met
